We thought Pontins a poorman's Butlins. But no! Our luxury chalet, booked by Doug, had everything. Showers, warm rooms, cotton bed-linen, endless hot water, sun pouring into the main dining room. A minute's dash to the three ballrooms and endless live jive and rock 'n roll. A thousand rockers with coif and winkle-pickers. Women in stockings and high heels, shoulders and pill-box hat.
